🔥 STEP 1: BREW THE CHAI CONCENTRATE
Start with a good chai base.
Monsoon Hills 19-spice loose leaf chai is rich, aromatic and strong enough to stand its ground next to espresso.
You’ll need:
🫖 1 heaped tsp Monsoon Hills loose leaf chai
💧 1 cup water
🥄 Optional: date syrup, sugar or agave to sweeten
🔥 1 small pan
How to brew it:
1️⃣ Add 1 cup of water to a pan on low–medium heat
2️⃣ Stir in 1 tsp of chai mix and boil for 3–4 minutes to let the flavours infuse
3️⃣ Strain out the tea leaves — this is your chai concentrate
⚡ STEP 2: ADD ESPRESSO + FROTHY MILK
🥛 Froth your favourite milk (we love oat for that creamy texture)
☕ Pull a fresh shot of espresso
If you get your beans from RISE Coffee Box, you already know you’re working with the good stuff 🙌
Their indie roaster selection changes monthly — meaning your dirty chai can taste a little different (and delicious!) every time.
✨ Pairing ideas:
🍫 Nutty or vanilla-toned espresso = smooth, sweet & creamy
🍋 Fruity or citrusy espresso = bright, bold & exciting
🧋 STEP 3: BUILD YOUR DIRTY CHAI
In your favourite mug:
➕ ½ cup chai concentrate
➕ 1 shot espresso
➕ ¼ cup frothed milk
Top it off with ✨cinnamon✨ or some dark chocolate shavings if you're feeling extra.
Want it iced? Let the chai and coffee cool, add ice, pour over cold milk. Refreshing & bold!

A dirty chai is all about contrast:
Earthy spices vs. bold espresso, soft milk vs. sharp flavour.
It’s comforting and energising — perfect for slow Sundays or an afternoon pick-me-up. ✨
